Who knew Monaco had so many hills?!

I’m completely tolerable of walking long distances, but when it comes to hilly terrains, I’m beat. And Monaco boasts quite a lot of hilly terrain. There are few taxis and no Uber driving services, so the main transportation systems are via bus or foot. Since I only had two days (technically, 1.5 days) to explore, I decided to skip the bus and just navigate on foot. I’m still not sure if my decision was a sound one or not; it was a rewarding experience walking everywhere because everything about Monaco is breathtaking, but it was also incredibly tiring.

I couldn’t stay long in Monaco, but I did manage to see the famous Monte Carlo Casino, the Fairmont Hairpin of the Circuit de Monaco, Prince Albert’s Vintage Car Collection, and, of course, the harbor (so many huge yachts!), as well as some cute boutique shops and cafes that line the many cobblestone roads. Thankfully, the weather was gorgeous while I was there, and it was such a nice change to switch out of my layers from Milan to this lightweight cropped utility jacket as I climbed up and down hill after hill.

Go down to the beaches of the French Riviera
Oceanographic Museum

Hopefully, my next trip to beautiful Monaco will be for the Formula One Grand Prix! One can dream… but in the meantime, I’m heading off to London soon, so more travel posts will be coming your way in a few days!
