Photo Journal: Along the Central Coast

Good morning everyone, and happy 2016!

We’re constantly chasing after adventures, and I kicked off the new year with a road-trip along the beautiful coastline up to Central California! I’ve never been keen on swimming or boating, but I do love a good ocean view and have always considered myself extremely lucky to have grown up so close to the beaches.

Central California was a little more chilly than what I’m more used to down here in Los Angeles, but I kept toasty and warm in my cashmere sweater and puffer vest. With skinny pants and black sneakers, I was ready to make tons of pit pic stops at every gorgeous beach and hill! From Eldwayen Ocean Park and Shell Beach in Pismo Beach to Cambria and then up to Hearst Castle and even the Elephant Seal Rookery, I never ceased to be amazed by the gorgeous open waters and rock formations (beautiful sunny skies definitely helped with the scenic views). Even the grassy hillside flocked with cattle that bordered the other side of the highway was equally inspiring and refreshing to me.

Gobsmacked by the all the views (I wish I had taken some shots of the cattle and horses!), I ended up taking a ton of photographs which naturally don’t do the real thing much justice, but I hope you can still find beauty and inspiration in the ones below! Too often, I accidentally take living in California for granted, and this little road trip reminded me just how beautiful this state’s coastline can be and how fortunate I am to be living here. Soon, I’ll be leaving this behind as I move to the east, but in the meantime, this is my happy place.
