2015 Finale

I love pairing the unexpected together, like this insanely romantic flowy top with a tough (faux) leather jacket and sleek OTK leather boots. Not only do they complement each other perfectly in terms of color (you can never go wrong with black & white), but their polar opposite elements also fuse together into one dramatic blend…two words that pretty much sum up 2015 for me. Can you believe tomorrow is New Year’s Eve?! I swear, ever since graduating high school, each year just flies by, and then recently time amped up its speed and is now racing much too quickly for my liking, causing every one of my life events to blend together into one colorful blur.

Nevertheless, it’s safe to say that 2015 wasn’t one of the best years for me. Lots of happy memories were created, but simultaneously, dark moments were dominatingly copious. However, I strongly believe in finding light – however faint – in every darkness, so I will say that despite all the grievances incurred this year, 2015 provided valuable life lessons for me to grow as a person and to learn to appreciate myself, my surroundings, and opportunities to do good that much more.

Even though it’s going to be a new year in just a couple of days, it will still just another day in life. We’ve all heard the phrase “new year, clean slate,” or at least something along the lines of that, and as much as I’d like to believe it, life unfortunately is never that easy. We don’t exactly get a clean slate. Nothing gets re-set back to zero for the new year: problems and responsibilities from December 31 are still the same problems and responsibilities on January 1. However, a new year is a great starting point for hopeful changes as well as a perfect launch pad for bigger dreams. For those who haven’t heard the news yet, I’ll be moving to New York City soon! It’s something I’ve been dreaming about for over a decade, and although I’m nervous to my core about it, I know deep down I’m secretly excited to embark on this new path and share stories with you from not only a different city but also from waaaaay out of my comfort zone!

As always, I sincerely hope you’ll find inspiration in what you see here on Jayeeaych.com and draw on that to notice the beauty that exists all around wherever you may find yourself, and I hope we can continue to inspire and encourage each other to push the limits of our creativity and capabilities in order to pursue our wildest dreams. I often look back over this blog’s evolution, and I’m forever stunned by it. In the beginning, I had hardly dared to dream that the blog would attract any readers, much less enthusiastic subscribers and sponsors from all over the world, but it happened and still is happening, and I am truly humbled by your words of support and viewership. A million thank-yous to every one of you for following me on this journey. Here’s to achieving bigger and better things this year – 2016 will be different and epic.
