FLAT WHITE

Anyone familiar with the term “flat white?”

I first came across this in a New York City coffee shop two years ago and had absolutely no idea what it was. To play it safe, I didn’t order it, but I did hastily Google “flat white coffee” and then promptly forgot all about it. But last weekend, it popped up again! Whilst in line at Starbucks, I noticed those two words drawn out on a chalkboard as a new menu item. Even though flat white has been circulating around the coffee world for quite some time already, it apparently has just made its debut at Starbucks.

The photo set you see here was taken shortly after the Starbucks trip. It had rained earlier in the day, so it was nice to get out of the house and soak in some post-rain fresh air. Despite the rain, it wasn’t too chilly out and like a fashion snob, I decided to drape my leather jacket over my old black-and-white blouse from Forever 21, rather than wear it like a normal person.

Oh, and by the way, flat white is essentially steamed milk poured over ristretto shots of espresso.

As always, thank you so much for reading! Have a great weekend!

P.S. Have you taken a look at the Oscar nominations yet?! If not, here’s the list. Any predictions?

P.P.S. Thank you SO much for the positive feedback on my scarves post! I had no idea it would have such a great reception and I’m thrilled that you readers found it helpful!

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset(okay this photo above wasn’t taken on the same day, but it sort of fits today’s topic and I like the afternoon lighting of it so I figured, why not?)
