NYC Autumn: Biker Jackets And Skinny Scarves

New York City Autumn

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald

Autumn is magical. Back in Los Angeles, I never got to fully appreciate the change of the seasons, so seeing the leaves change from green to red and experiencing a noticeable drop in temperature was nothing short of inspiring and invigorating.

With November comes the turnover of wardrobe and the grab of an extra blanket at night, and brisk NYC autumn days such as this gorgeous one call for cozy shearling biker jackets accented by skinny black scarves. During the summer, I reveled in pastels and prints, but with the transition into autumn, I’m finding myself blending into the crowds with a comfortable and demure all-black palette.

Life moves at a constant blurred pace, and I was beginning to feel the itch to connect with more than just concrete and asphalt. I needed water. I needed foliage. I needed to go to a place where I could just breathe. Given that I’m surrounded by towering skyscrapers, honking cars and other buzzing city noises every second of every day, the only logical place I could escape to reconnect with nature was Central Park. And so there I found myself with a good friend over the weekend. Even amidst tourists and locals, we still managed to find moments of relative peace when we could temporarily block out the realities of life and just soak in the present, engulfed by the chilly November air and soft golden light peeking through red and purple leaves.
