50’s in SoHo

It’s fascinating how easily the human body can adapt to a new surrounding! Before moving to New York City, I would have been shivering and bundled up in a pea coat and scarf should the Los Angeles temperatures dropped to around the 50’s. But now that I’ve been here for a little over two months and have experienced single-digit temperatures as well as a snowstorm, 50 degrees (with sunshine) has become quite the welcoming thing to see on the weather forecast.

And that takes us to this past Sunday when I met up with a friend in Soho for brunch and lattes. Sunny with just a hint of a cool breeze, I happily swapped my usual wool coat for a leather jacket, and it felt so refreshing to be back in one of my staple closet pieces. Since I wasn’t too sure how the weather would fluctuate throughout the day, I still brought along a blanket scarf for those just-in-case moments, and it was ultimately a win-win decision because the colors brightened up my otherwise all-black ensemble!
